How to Check Your Tank Gauge

If you are a Will Call customer, Eastern recommends that you regularly monitor your tank level. For propane accounts, look for the round dial attached to the tank (it looks like a speedometer) with numbers from 5 - 95. To allow space for propane gas to expand with temperatures, an above ground tank is considered full at 80% of its capacity. For examples, see the chart below.

Eastern recommends that you contact us to request delivery when your tank is at the 30-40% level or at least 10 days before you would like to receive it.

FOR OIL AND KEROSENE USERS, look for your gauge on the top or side of your tank. An oil tank is typically located in the basement and kerosene tanks are located outside the home. Both look like a big black elephant. The gauge will have a bubble that floats a marker to indicate your tank level. Measure your tank level by reading the number next to the top of the marker i.e. full, ¾ or ½ or ¼ or empty. Eastern recommends that you contact us to request delivery between a ¼ & ½ a tank or at least 10 days before you would like it to arrive.

For your convenience, comfort & safety Eastern recommends that you always maintain at least a ¼ tank of fuel or at least 30% in your propane tank.
