Eastern "Fuels" Claremont Fall Festival & Chili Cook-Off :: view event photos >
Our Limoges team in Claremont represented Eastern as a major sponsor in Claremont's 12th Annual Fall Festival & Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Operations Manager, Rudy Perron, and Energy Consultant, Mark Limoges, greeted visitors at the Eastern trailer to provide information about products and services. Technical Support Representative, Peter Meserve was also on site to offer propane safety demonstrations and to represent the Eastern Safety Committee in cooperative efforts with the Claremont Police Department's Ident-A-Kid program. Customer Care Representative, Janette Coombs spent 12 hours perfecting her dynamite chili entry, "Chatterbox Chili." (Those who know and love Jan, know that the name she chose for her entry is oh so appropriate!) Before the chili cook-off began, Janette ran the 5k road race to benefit the Claremont Parks & Recreation Department. Jan - we think maybe you should have named your chili, Spitfire Ball of Energy! Jan was assisted in presenting her chili entry by fellow Customer Care Representative, Debbie Fowler. At the end of the day, it all paid off ladies because Jan's "Chatterbox Chili" took home 1st Place in the Business catetegory! Way to go! We would like to thank everyone in the Eastern family and extended Eastern family who came out to support the event. The rain could not dampen their spirits and they made us all so very proud. Special thanks to the Claremont Chamber of Commerce, The Claremont Parks & Recreation Department, The Claremont Police Department and all other supporters of the event for allowing us to be a part of such a great day. |

Commemorative Flag Makes Historical Journey :: view event photos >
In celebration of Eastern's 75th year of service, U.S. Senator John Sununu (R-NH) presented a commemorative flag as a gift to Chuck Clement III, owner of Eastern Propane & Oil. To symbolize the company’s journey through history, the flag, which once flew over the United States Capitol building, has also been raised and flown over each of Eastern’s six district offices throughout New England. Today, the flag proudly and permanently resides at Eastern's corporate offices in Rochester, NH. |

Seacoast United Way Day of Caring :: view event photos >
In participation with the United Way 16th annual Fall Day of Caring, Eastern mobilized more than 2 dozen employees to help agencies in need throughout the seacoast. Several deserving organizations benefited from the hands-on work of our volunteers. Eastern teams were dispatched to: The Farmington Child Care Center in Farmington, NH where workers painted classrooms, doors and fences and also repaired the building's signature pillars. Maple Street School in Rochester, NH where Eastern employees helped out by cataloging books for the school library. Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth, NH where three teams took an appropriate step back in time to paint fences like Tom Sawyer. "Way" to go gang! |
