Service Technician

Location : Springvale, ME; Rochester, NH; Loudon, NH; Danvers, MA

This safety sensitive position is responsible for performing the safe service and installation of propane and/or oil equipment; and ensuring the safe delivery of liquid products to our customers on a daily basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of propane and/or oil systems and appliances in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
  • Interact with customers and co-workers respectfully and courteously  while  maintaining confidentiality of all customer information
  • Ensuring that all company policies, procedures, handbooks, manuals and state/local and federal codes are adhered to in connection with all retail trouble shooting, repairs, services and installations
  • Ability to perform all functions of the job in every weather condition, day and night and participate in “on-call” rotation
  • Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspection and operate company vehicle in a safe manner, in compliance with state/federal motor vehicle laws
  • Participate in all safety and staff meetings and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
  • Be receptive to and competently use new technology
  • Complete paperwork in neat, timely, and accurate manner
  • Consistent compliance with company, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Present a neat and clean appearance, including maintaining cleanliness of uniform and vehicle
  • Support Mission Statement, Vision and Core Values
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54) and Storage and Handling of Liquefied Propane Gas (NFPA 58)
  • Demonstrated ability to pass any state exam for licensing and/or certification for propane and/or oil service and installation
  • Hold valid state license or certificate to perform daily propane/oil service and installations
  • Valid state license for size vehicle and appropriate endorsements
  • Submit to and pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug /alcohol tests
  • Knowledge of electricity and use of test meter
  • Knowledge of carbon monoxide & leak and pressure testing
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Operators driving license and clean driving record
  • 1- 3-years of relevant industry experience in oil and propane
  • Ability to build strong relationships with management and colleagues
  • Highly organized and flexible
  • Demonstrated ability for patience and professionalism
  • Adept problem solving /troubleshooting skills
  • HVAC experience definite plus
  • Demonstrated ability to read and write English and perform basic math
  • Valid State Gas License
