Fleet Manager

This safety sensitive position is responsible for the day-to-day management and activities of the fleet department by efficiently providing support in a positive and respectful manner and working with a team, including mechanics who maintain and repair a large fleet of trucks, machinery, and heavy equipment across all districts and garages. Strong leadership skills, a technical background, and the ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Education: High school graduate minimum.
  • Experience: 1-3 years management level.
  • Truck maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Create, maintain, and report from Excel; create Word documents; use Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledge in tracking and filing Original Equipment Manufacturer warranties preferred.
  • Knowledge of propane powered vehicles and propane conversions a plus. 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work through time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at a very fast pace and with solid work drive.
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and become an expert in the business.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with team members and other members of Eastern’s management team.
