The Beginning of a Reliable, Caring Energy Partner
This story begins in Danvers, Massachusetts in the year 1932. The Clement Family, who owned a busy hardware store in town, decided to try their hand at selling “bottled gas” for customers to use as an alternate power source for home and outdoor appliances.
This niche side of their business grew and grew until it eventually became so successful and was in such high demand, that by 1959, the Clements expanded to become a four-state LP gas retailer and wholesaler under the name of Country Gas Distributors. With the spirited assistance and guidance from subsequent family generations, the company continued to expand their products and services and was renamed to better portray the company's commitment to providing customers with a superior clean, efficient and highly sought fuel alternative. Thus the name Eastern Propane was born.
Today, Eastern is celebrating its seventy-fifth anniversary as the same caring, reliable, and customer-friendly business the Clements envisioned back in Danvers, MA in the 30's. Although the company has seen tremendous growth as the country's 16th largest propane gas retailer, Eastern continues to be family-owned and personal, while at the same time, providing a level of service, products, convenience and satisfaction that rival and surpass the leading national giants.
