Checking Your Tank Gauge
For Propane Customers
To check the gauge on your propane tank, look for the round dial (it looks like a speedometer) with numbers from 5 – 95. So that propane gas has room to expand with changing temperatures, an above ground tank is considered full at 80% of its capacity. You should call Eastern to request a delivery when your tank is at the 30% level or at least 5-7 days before you would like it to arrive.

Tank Monitors
You can also save time and stop worrying with a tank monitor. Eastern offers a propane tank monitoring system that accurately monitors the supply of propane you need to keep your household, business, or vacation home running efficiently. With a tank monitor, your propane deliveries are forecasted and scheduled as needed. If an unusual change occurs, a notification is sent to your local Eastern team so that we deliver when you need us.
For Oil & Kerosene Customers
Look for your gauge on the top or side of your tank. An oil tank is typically located in the basement and kerosene tanks are located outside the home. The gauge will have a bubble that floats a marker to indicate your tank level. Measure your tank level by reading the number next to the top of the marker i.e. full, ¾ or ½ or ¼ or empty. You should call Eastern to request a delivery when your tank is a ¼ tank or at least 5-7 days before you would like it to arrive.
